Empowering rural communities to act for change

Peer-to-peer exchanges among Dynamos

Learning from each other, growing together

At the heart of RURACTIVE lies the belief that the best solutions are created and strengthened when people share their knowledge, experiences and ideas. For that reason, we facilitate Peer-to-Peer exchanges – short in-person visits where rural communities (the RURACTIVE Dynamos ) learn directly from one another.

These exchanges give the Dynamo partners the chance to see innovative approaches in practice, ask questions and discuss challenges face-to-face. They also open doors for building long-lasting connections and collaborations that extend well beyond the project itself.

Why peer exchanges matter

  • Direct learning from real-life examples: instead of reading reports, participants experience solutions in action.
  • Tailored knowledge transfer: each exchange focuses on specific challenges identified by the communities themselves.
  • Inclusive participation: local stakeholders, including vulnerable groups, are actively involved, ensuring that innovation is accessible to all.
  • Building stronger networks: rural communities across Europe support one another, creating a stronger collective voice for rural innovation.
  • Sustainable impact: knowledge is documented, shared and reused, multiplying the benefits across regions.

How it works

The exchanges are structured through a clear Peer learning protocol and supported by practical guidelines for both hosts and visitors.

  • Host Dynamos prepare local visits, involve stakeholders and showcase their innovative practices and the solutions they are developing as part of RURACTIVE.
  • Visiting Dynamos come prepared to learn, exchange ideas and bring back insights to their own communities.

All results are captured and shared across the RURACTIVE network to ensure transparency and continuity.
